I get asked several questions when the subject of lightsabers comes up.
The biggest one is in reguards to cost but they have a bit of a range after that.
Here, I will do my best to answer any and all questions.

Buying your first LightSaber
Q. How many kinds of LightSabers are there?
A. There are easily a Hundred different styles. Some companies make ones you can mix and match parts to so that you can create your own.
Q. You said companies... How many are there?
A. I did say companies. There are several, I have a small list at the end of this FAQ's to get you started.
Q. So.. how much am I going to spend?
A. That depends on the kind of saber you want. A simple stunt saber that has light but no sound would start around $75. A Saber with sound and light could start around $200. A Saber with high quality sound and light usually starts around $400 to $500. I do recommend that you start with a Stunt saber before getting into the more expensive ones.
Q. How durable are they?
A. You'll find that sabers from most of these companies should be able to take a beating. But any time you start banging around a product full of electronics you're going to have issues. While the ones I do have, have stood up to the beating I give them some things you will face are lights will flickering wires wires disconnecting, buttons might short circuit. It's the nature of things in my experience.
These saber shops stand by their work and are willing to fix any faulty parts. Most will be willing to fix combat damage regardless of any warranties that they may or may not have.
Q. So what exactly does that mean?
A. Avoid dropping your saber at all cost. This is the worst thing for them... besides water and/or snow. I know that Ultrasabers and Saberforge will cover combat damage but not drops, water, or you trying to fix it yourself... please make sure to read the companies warranty information before you buy. It also means that if you are looking to spin and do tricks with your saber, please get a stunt saber to practice with before you up grade to something that is nicer with sound.
Q. What is a stunt Saber?
A. As mentioned in a previous answer it is a lightsaber that has light but no sound, less electrical components means that you will have less inside to damage.
Q. Where is that list?
A. Right here:
Ultrasabers
Saberforge
Solo's Hold
Kyberlight
Vaders Vault
Lamadiluce
Q. Do you own any Lightsabers?
A. I own, at this moment, Nine.
Eight Ultrasabers and One Saberforge. Eight Stunt sabers and One with sound. I am more than happy to answer any additional questions, feel free to e-mail me.
